Help the students to complete the crossword using the pictures and the word bank provided as clues. While they colour the pictures, talk to them - review and repeat the vocabulary.
10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters? Ask questions to each student in a circle. When a student has answered the question, they must ask the next person in the circle the same question.
Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.
10mins: Review: Days of the week and 'before' and 'after'. Ask some example questions to the class such as 'what day is before Monday, what day is after Thursday etc.' Then, split the students into two teams. Give each team a piece of paper and have them write 1-5. Ask a questions about the days of the week using 'before' 'after' and 'between'.
10mins: Pre-teach: Verbs - 'Listen and repeat' do an action and say what verb it is, then point to a student. The student should say and do the action, then point to another student. After every student has repeated, move on to the next verb.
*For more advanced lessons, brainstorm a list of verbs with the class and write them on the whiteboard. Begin by pointing to a student and saying one verb. The student must act out this verb, then point to another student saying a different verb from the list. Continue until every student has had a chance or all verbs have been used.
