Teacher Guide

First teach when to use A vs AN and have the students point to all the adjectives that start with a vowel. Then the can complete the sentences with adjectives of their choice and circle the correct article. Then they should draw a new monster and write 4 sentences to describe it, simply as shown 'My monster is....'. Afterwards, have them present their picture and read the sentences out loud.

Lesson Plan

:

14 - Year 3 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters? Ask questions to each student in a circle. When a student has answered the question, they must ask the next person in the circle the same question.

Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.

10mins: Review: 'Days of the week' - Ask each student what their favourite day of the week is, and what they do on that day.

05mins: Review: Christmas vocabulary - Play 'guess what' - use adjectives to describe 'Christmas vocabulary'. Students must guess what you're describing.

15mins: Worksheet: 14 monster adjectives

15min: Activity: Assign the students into pairs. Student one will read the 'four sentences' about their monster, and student two will try to draw the monster based on the description. Then, student two will read the sentences describing their monster, and student one has to draw the monster. Award a star to whichever student draws the most accurate monster based on the description.

05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points
