Use this page to review previous topics: introduction questions, adjectives, animals, spelling, days of the week, verbs, I like/ I don't like, the article A/AN, body parts, has got and the verb 'to be'. It's a good chance to do an art and craft activity, or draw a picture together then label the page with the key vocabulary already covered.
10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions: What's your name, age, and where are you from? Have you got any brothers or sisters? Ask questions to each student in a circle. When a student has answered the question, they must ask the next person in the circle the same question.
Choose a student to stand up, and ask the other students: What's his/her name? Where is he/she from? Where is he/she from? Repeat this process until every student has had a turn.10mins: Activity: On the line - The teacher will indicate two lines on the floor facing. One line is 'left' and the other line is 'right'. Then, the teacher will say 'Go left if you like...' or 'go right if you like...' The students who like the thing must go to the appropriate line. The students who don't like the thing must stay in the middle of the two lines. After the students get the hang of the game, you can eliminate students who go the wrong direction.
25mins: Worksheet: Review time - Please plan a craft or creative activity to reinforce 'I like'. Please remember to sign out any materials you use from the C.E. library.
10mins: Activity: 'I like' poster. Have students draw one food, one animal, one sport and one colour they like. Have students write sentences for each one.
Extension: Add a reason! Ask students to add 'because' and provide a reason. (E.g. I like basketball because I can run.)
05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points
