Review the difference between 'have got' and 'has got' then have the students complete the sentences. They then need to copy the same structure to write two sentences of their own. Have them read their sentences out loud.
10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions 'What's your name, how old are you, where are you from'. Ask each student to say one thing they've got in their bedroom.
05mins: Review: Vowels - A, E, I, O, U. Brainstorm lists of nouns for each word. Explain that for nouns that begin with a vowel, we use the article 'an'.
05mins: Review: 'Have got' - give each student a different colour pen. Write the sentence structure on the white board. 'I have got a/an _________ pen.' Say what colour pen you've got, and then go in a circle, having each student say what colour pen they've got.
10mins: Pre-teach: Has got/ have got - explain what pronouns need which version of have. Use the pens/students in the class as examples.
10mins: Musical pens - Be sure that each student has a different coloured pen. Then, with the students sitting in a circle, ask them to close their eyes and pass the pens around the circle as a song plays. When the song stops, students must put their pen behind their back so no one else can see. Then, go in a circle, having students ask each other 'Have you got a ________ pen.' If a student guesses correctly, they get to keep the pen and the other student is eliminated.
