Teacher Guide

Have fun review simple action words by acting them out. Introduce the new ones that the students don't know yet and show them how to spell them. Then have the students unscramble the words on the worksheet to write out the list of verbs in the simple present form.

Lesson Plan

:

08 - Year 4 Lesson plan

10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions 'What's your name, how old are you, where are you from'. Ask each student to say what their favourite day of the week is.

10mins: Review: Has got/ have got - Have each student say one thing they've got in their bedroom. Then, have the students try to say what each classmate has. (E.g. She's got a doll, he's got legos).

10mins: Pre-teach: Verbs - 'Listen and repeat' do an action and say what verb it is, then point to a student. The student should say and do the action, then point to another student. After every student has repeated, move on to the next verb. (go, play, eat, swim, run, drink, watch, draw, walk, read, write, sleep, ride, drive)

15mins: Worksheet: page 09 - simple present

10mins: Game: Verb charades - students taking turns acting out and trying to guess verbs from the list.

05mins: Warm Down: Goodbye + points. Pack up supplies, help students prepare to leave and straighten up the classroom.
