The students can write sentences with 'can/can't', or alternatively use 'likes to/ doesn't like to', or in other ways such as 'She swims at the beach'. Teach them the correct form to use after each type, e.g:can + infinitivelikes to + infinitiveHe/she + 3rd person simple present (add s)Have them read their sentences out loud. While they colour review and repeat.
10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions 'What's your name, how old are you, where are you from'. Ask each student to say what their favourite day of the week is.
10mins: Review: Has got/ have got - Have each student say one thing they've got in their bedroom. Then, have the students try to say what each classmate has. (E.g. She's got a doll, he's got legos).
10mins: Pre-teach - It can/can't. Brainstorm a list of animals. Students have to say one thing each animal can do, and one thing they can't. E.g. A fish can swim, but it can't fly. Then, students say one thing they can/can't do. (E.g. I can run but I can't play guitar.)
