This worksheet reviews some of the basic preposition words, using shape words that the students may not yet know yet. Have them read the sentences and follow the instructions.
10mins: Introduction - Beginner questions 'What's your name, how old are you, where are you from, have you got any brothers or sisters? What's your favourite day of the week? What do you usually do on this day? What's one thing you like? One think you don't like? What's one thing you can do? One thing you can't do?
10mins: Review: 'Present continuous' - Line students up against the wall. Choose one student to go first. They will face the students so they can see what each student is doing. When the teacher says go, each student in the line will mime a different action. (e.g. brushing their teeth, playing guitar, riding a bicycle). The student whose turn it is will describe the actions of their classmates, using the present continuous.
10mins: Pre-teach - Prepositions: Review preposition cards. Ask students to place objects around the room. After, ask students to describe the position of objects using complete sentences.
15mins: Worksheet: page 17 - prepositions
10mins: Draw the directions - give students instructions about what to draw on their picture and where using prepositions. Have each student decide one object to draw and explain where it should be drawn in relation to other objects.
