Review the sentences on the previous worksheet that use the past continuous form. Help the students to choose 'was' or 'were' for each sentence and then complete it with a past continuous verb. Have them read their sentences out loud. Before each one ask a question that matches the sentence, for example: "What was James doing when you saw him yesterday?". Remind them that we use the past continuous to describe what was happening at a certain moment in the past.

10mins: Review: Was/were - the past tense of the verb 'to be'. Discuss which pronouns agree with which verb.
