Teacher Guide

Review the structures of the comparative and superlative forms, writing some examples up on the board. Underline the key parts:

Comparatives: subject + verb 'to be' + ------ER + than .....

Superlatives: subject + verb 'to be' + the + -------EST

This worksheet is designed to help students identify WHEN to use each structure, and when just to use the adjective form. Help them spot the key words 'the' and 'than' as a clue, as well as understanding which is appropriate from the context.

Have the students complete the worksheet then check their spelling. Have them read their 3 sentences out loud.
