Our Method
We help students express themselves in Italian with confidence through interactive lessons with lots of conversation and practice. We use immersive language learning as much as possible, modern worksheets and group discussions.
For younger learners we incorporate games, songs and challenges to keep the lessons fun and exciting. Our goal is to build enthusiasm for and confidence with the beautiful Italian language.
Advanced level learners will work on expressing themselves in a variety of situations using appropriate vocabulary and tenses. We will use multimedia resources and real world media to improve comprehension skills and connect to authentic sources.
A Typical Lesson
10mins – Introduction/Conversation practice with guided questions and answers
5mins – Revision of past lessons
10mins – Introduction to current lesson theme – with spoken examples, repetition, songs, or movement activities.
20mins – Worksheet or craft based on the current grammar topic
15mins – Game/activity to reinforce the real life application of the current target language or grammar point.
10mins – Project work (age appropriate) to reinforce authentic use of target language (blog, creative writing, science experiment, role playing. Or cultural exchange activity such as featured game, current events, recipe, story or trends.
5mins – Warm down activities
The Importance Of building LWRS skills
Listening – Our teachers speak clearly and slowly for the youngest students and introduce colloquialisms and even slang for the older students.
Writing – Our teachers will help students to understand grammar rules and to form correct sentences in Italian.
Reading – We create original worksheets to include example phrases and sentences to help the students get more confident at reading in Italian.
Speaking – Our strength is in getting our students to use the language as we do, naturally and with confidence and great pronunciation.
