Interactive preparation course for the third level of the Cambridge English Young Learners (YLE) exams.
The Cambridge English A2 Flyers exam is a listening, reading, writing and speaking assessment test for young learners aged between 7 to 12 years old. It is the third and final level in the series of Cambridge English Qualifications for Young Learners and introduces students to everyday written and spoken English.
The course is organised into modules that mimic the different parts of the Cambridge English A2 Flyers exam to enable students to become familiar with the format and question styles. Each part contains useful advice and strategies as well as relevant grammar points and resources to use to get more practice. Some parts also contain tutorial videos with specific tips for that exam part.
This homework course introduces students to the format and requirements of the A2 Flyers exam. They will have the opportunity to practice past exam questions and receive feedback on their performance.
When a student finishes the Cambridge A2 Flyers level preparation course and followed the advice for extra practice they will be ready to sit the exam, which shows that they have achieved a basic level of English in the four language skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. The qualification shows that a student can use English to communicate in simple situations. It shows the student is able to:
They will have also developed their confidence in using English and will be ready to progress to the next level of the Cambridge English Qualifications, which is the A2 Key for Schools (KET) level.
The course covers the first 6 parts of the Reading and Writing part of the A2 Flyers exam. Each part is explained and there are multiple interactive homework modules to complete to practice the following skills:
Part 1: Reading definitions and matching to words. Copying words.
Part 2: Reading and completing a continuous dialogue. Writing letters.
Part 3: Reading for specific information and gist. Copying words.
Part 4: Reading and understanding a factual text. Copying words. Simple grammar.
Part 5: Reading a story. Completing sentences using one, two, three or four words.
Part 6: Reading and understanding a short text. Write the missing word in each of the five gaps.
The course covers 3 of the 5 parts of the Listening part of the A2 Flyers exam. Each part is explained and there are multiple interactive homework modules to complete to practice the following skills:
Part 1: not included in this edition of the course.
Part 2: Listening for names, spellings and other information in a short conversation between 2 people.
Part 3: Listening for words, names and detailed information in a short conversation and matching pictures accordingly.
Part 4: Listening for specific information. There is a question and three pictures for each of 5 short conversations.

The course covers the last part of the Reading and Writing part of the A2 Flyers exam ("Part 7"). Each part is explained and there are multiple interactive homework modules to complete to practice the following skills:

The course covers the 4 parts of the Speaking part of the A2 Flyers exam. Each part is explained and there are multiple interactive homework modules to complete to practice the following skills:
Part 1: Understanding and talking about differences between pictures. Talking about colour, size, number, position, how people/things look, what people are doing, etc.
Part 2: Answering questions with short answers, about a provided picture. Asking questions to get information.
Part 3: Understanding the beginning of a story and then continuing it. Describing pictures.
Part 4: Understanding and responding to personal questions (for example about school, hobbies, birthday, family or holidays).
